Our Commitment
We go into every restaurant hoping for a 5 star experience. Sadly, that is not always the outcome.
Every restaurant has a unique dish or something to offer which brings us in to take a look. We expect the best going in, and try to never be bias in reviewing a restaurant.
If ever there is a reason that a bias would occur, we will fully disclose the reason (i.e. if it's our friend's restaurant or something similar). We commit to reviewing restaurants and cafes no different if we have an affiliation or not.
Every Level Explained
Alright, here it is. Here's the breakdown of how our starts will work.
Five Stars: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Five stars is the top of the pack. There can be no better rating or higher recommendation than a 5 star review. That means the food was top notch, the drinks were stellar and the service was above and beyond. Any restaurant given a 5 star rating means you should definitely give them a visit.
Four Stars: ★ ★ ★ ★
Four stars means they were very close. Something happened during the meal that caused this location to loose a star. Something such as the food was quite good and the drinks were great, but the service was slow and not overly enthusiastic. These things can happen, and we think most good restaurants will still be rated 4 stars.
Three Stars: ★ ★ ★
Now we start to enter territory of something that went wrong. This could be something along the lines of the food being not great, or the coffee was acidic and over-extracted. 3 stars doesn't necessarily mean that a restaurant is bad but it also means that this place didn't impress us. 3 is a solid okay. Not failing, but just okay.
Two Stars: ★ ★
Okay, now something went horribly wrong. Now we're in we got served a burnt steak, but the staff still replaced it, with one that was marginally better' side of the experience. We're in slow or rude service territory with 2 stars. If 3 stars was okay, but still passing, 2 stars is a definite fail. This means something went wrong and we would most likely not return.
One Star: ★
It would be very difficult to get a one star review, but it can happen. This would be a situation such as a chicken dish was served under-cooked and the staff were not happy to replace it, or we found a long hair and the staff get upset with us for bringing it up. We will not be happy to dole out one star reviews, but if a restaurant fails us so badly, it deserves to be shown that they don't care. One star is given to a restaurant we would never recommend, nor will we be returning to.
